On January 5th, 2021 a fire swept through the Oberreuter family home. Wayne and Cathy were asleep and escaped with only the clothes they were wearing. Married for fifty years. This devastating fire destroyed a lifetime of memories. Everything was lost including their beloved dog Tanner.


Unfortunately, this is not their only obstacle, since 2016 Cathy has been battling cancer. She is currently in the middle of her fight and this tragedy comes at an incredibly difficult time. 


These funds will help Wayne and Cathy begin to rebuild their life and help to alleviate some of the  tremendous emotional stress and financial costs.


Wayne and Cathy have called  “the backcountry” home for almost 4 decades. This community is located in the East County of San Diego and holds a special place in their hearts.
