24-7 Prayer Denver Boulder Year-End Fundraiser

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

THANK YOU for your generous support. We’re grateful for all of you who partner with us and we can’t do the work without you!

Early this year, Kenn sensed an expansion would occur in our 24-7 Prayer role which would require more of our time. Holy Spirit spoke, “Be ready.” At that point, Kenn spent the large majority of his work hours in his window washing job. Then the pandemic hit and he was furloughed. Kenn hasn’t returned and we don’t believe he will.

The pandemic gave rise to an incredible increase in prayer and prayer initiatives, the world over. We joined one hundred churches and ministries in April for the first Denver Prays: 72 hours of prayer (via Zoom) hosted by a Northeast Denver church. New connections we made that weekend peaked our interest in the Northeast region of the city, including its historically African American community. The neighborhood of Five Points was known as the Harlem of the West and hosts one of our nation’s largest Juneteenth celebrations. Soon after George Floyd’s death, we committed to pray regularly for Northeast Denver. On Juneteenth, we spent the morning prayer walking Five Points.

In May, Cheri began to follow Civil Righteousness, a prayer and justice movement. One way Civil Righteousness seeks peace and reconciliation is by turning public “altars of pain” into “altars of prayer.” This summer, they called cities to host prayer walls on every Martin Luther King Jr. street or monument. Our region's MLK Boulevard runs through Northeast Denver! In two short weeks, God built a team of six to organize Pray on MLK. He placed us at the first African American church in Colorado, which is located in front of the church which hosted Denver Prays. On August 8, one hundred twenty people lined a section of MLK Blvd, praying silently for the healing of racial divides. Three hundred U.S. cities and ten nations participated that day. Kenn serves as the Colorado State Organizer for Civil Righteousness, and we continue to explore the neighborhoods along MLK Blvd and seek God's heart for the city.

We know there’s more to come in Denver, Boulder, Colorado and the USA. We want to be ready and need to increase our financial support. Our year-end goal to raise $5000 will help us meet the remainder of salary needs for 2020.  Would you consider giving a one-time gift of $25 or more? Your donation enables us to keep giving and collaborating for the hope and peace of Jesus wherever we are led.

Deep Thanks!
Kenn and Cheri
