Year 6 Leavers’ Party at Queens Wood Café

Come Celebrate Together!

We’re so excited to invite all Year 6 families to a special celebration at the beautiful Queens Wood Café!

This event is a chance for children and parents to relax, chat, dance, and mark the end of primary school together. The café will be open for music and dancing, the woodland garden for play, and the cabin as a quiet, cozy space for conversations. (Please note: we’ll need to keep the volume low in the garden and cabin out of respect for nearby neighbours.)

The party begins at 7pm and ends around midnight — though families are welcome to arrive earlier to enjoy the woods and stay as long as feels right.

What to Bring:

• A dish (homemade or shop-bought) and a drink to share.

• Fancy dress is very welcome for both children and adults! Feel free to add a little fun and spice to the evening — though it’s not obligatory.

• Warm layers and comfy shoes are recommended for enjoying the outdoor spaces.

• Optional decorations (outdoor fairy lights would be beautiful — gentle indoor decorations welcome, but please avoid anything that could damage the walls).

• Any activities or games parents would like to contribute are also warmly welcomed!

Food and Drink Notes:

• We’ll have a few pizzas ready and pizzas can easily be heated in the oven if families would like to bring some along.

• If you’re not planning to go home for dinner beforehand, feel free to bring extra food your children will enjoy.

• Please label dishes if they contain common allergens (e.g., nuts, dairy, gluten).

• The front play area will be available for outdoor eating, drinking, and play, especially for families who choose to head to the woods earlier in the afternoon.

Timing and Flow:

We know many families will be heading to Hampstead Heath after school finishes early at 1:30pm, which is why this celebration is planned for the evening. Some families may prefer to spend time in the woods before the party — you are very welcome to do so, and we’ll have spaces ready for gathering, relaxing, and playing outdoors before 7pm.

Fundraising Details:

We’re fundraising only to cover the cost of staff for the evening. All other party magic — food, drinks, decorations, activities— will be thanks to the community coming together!

Any contribution is deeply appreciated and can be made anonymously. If you cannot afford to contribute please don’t, you are very welcome to come along and enjoy.

We will have only two staff members working during the event, which is not a lot for the number of guests we’re expecting.

Please treat them with respect and gratitude, and if you see that help is needed — whether it’s clearing a table or lending a hand — your support will be so appreciated.
