Support Kelly's Fight Against Stage 4 Cancer

After four years of enjoying life as a breast cancer survivor, Kelly was given the hard news that the cancer was back. This time the news was even more sobering.

Last month (October), Kelly went into the ER with shoulder/neck pain that was preventing a good night’s sleep and her ability to work efficiently during the day. She was sent in for a PET scan. After not hearing anything from an oncologist, she checked her patient portal to find and read the test results herself.

METASTATIC CANCER – Stage 4 – the cancer is now in her neck, bones, chest wall, and liver.

After not hearing from the oncologist, Kelly called the office herself. Nothing like having to be your own advocate! She also contacted another oncologist with hopes to have better patient care and planning. She found it with the oncologist she sought out.

This past Monday, 11/4/24, Kelly met with her new oncologist at Beacon and started her first round of chemo. The chemotherapy treatments will continue every week.

If you know Kelly, you know that her family is her world! She has 8 kids and 4 grandkids. She would do ANYTHING for her family and has battled so many obstacles for them and with them. She is a single mom and currently has two kids living at home. Kelly has chosen to do chemo believing it will give her the maximum time possible to raise her two at home and soak up her family around her. KELLY IS FIGHTING FOR MAX TIME!!

In less than a months time, the doctor bills have already stacked high. After insurance, Kelly currently is being asked to pay over $20,000. This is only the start. The biopsy and CT scan bill haven’t arrived. In the middle of an already stressful situation for Kelly and her family, the finances shouldn’t also add to the pressure.
