Hi, my name is Lorna Smith. I am a 40y.o. mother of three (3) wonderful children ages 6, 9 and 17; we live in West Palm Beach, Florida.
I work full time to support my family and take care of my expenses but of late I've not been able to do that fully as I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer and cancer of the lymph nodes in September, 2020 and it's one helluva expensive journey. On a daily basis I suffer emotionally, mentally, physically and most of all, financially. My body is in constant pain and tiredness. Oftentimes, I have to sit intermittently during my shifts to rest my feet. I've been on several medications starting with Ibrance which placed my white count and red count in the danger zone. That later led to the wearing of two masks at all times, a change in my diet whereinas I can't eat salads or anything uncooked and the compromising of my immune system.
During the same time, I was also prescribed Letrozole 2.5mg Tablet which makes my arms stiff especially at nights and Zolodox which brings on early menopause. My physician stopped the Ibrance and a month later, I was prescribed Verzenio 100mg. This also put my blood count in the danger zone. Consequently, my physician reduced the strength to 50mg. Hence I am on Verzenio 50mg, Letrozole 2.5mg tablets and Zolodox for the cancer and most recently, Xarelto 20mg tablets for a blood clot that was found in my right lung.
The cancer medications are preparations for my surgery which is expected to be done in late June, 2021. Doing the surgery will help me to be able to see my children grow up and extend my time with them as well as the rest of my family. I am looking to raise five hundred thousand dollars; this will cover my surgeries, medications as well as help with bills I currently have. Each contribution of support, even just sharing, will be help me move one step closer to getting back on my feet. Your effort is greatly appreciated.
