Matt Hamby Memorial Fund

Matt was a son,  husband, nephew, grandson and friend. He was smart, talented, loving and helpful, but what we didn't recognize was that he was also a deeply sad person who struggled with depression and mental illness his whole life. Matt's life had his ups and downs, but he was most happy when he was going to school and teaching others. He taught his last lesson to his family. Through this terrible tragedy, Matt has taught us that life is too short to hold onto grudges; that it's too fragile to hold onto the past. We as a family and society must realize that our families are the only thing given to us and without them we are nothing. Let Matt's last lesson be the reason you call an old friend, reconnect with a family member or the reason why you should love without holding back. Our hearts are broken due to this tragedy. We all wish we could have one last conversation with Matt. However, we cannot. Do not fall victim to this same tragedy. Call someone you love today. Call them right now to say I love you and that you don't want to live without them.
