Firewood Animal Sanctuary
I am a Miami native who grew up around animals and learned at a very young age how to care for them.
In 2018 I retired from a 25-year career with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. As an avid cyclist I spend countless hours and miles on Florida roads. I would find abandoned dogs and cats of all ages, in all states of health, while on the job or on the road. It's an honor to help ensure that an animal needing rescue has a chance for a healthy life in a good home. I now operate Firewood Animal Sanctuary from north central Florida, where I was able to acquire enough land to accommodate the 30+ animals that were not able to be rehomed. All reside on a spacious property in peace and health. Your donation helps provide food, shelter maintenance, and medical care for the sanctuary animals. It also helps me assist calls for urgent rescue projects by a remarkable network of dedicated rescuers and veterinarians.
