On July 30, 2024, my grandmother’s life changed forever. She was in a devastating car accident on Krome Avenue in Miami and had to be airlifted to the ICU, where she spent nearly three months fighting for her life. She endured multiple surgeries, suffered a stroke, and was left completely bedridden, unable to eat, speak, move, or care for herself.

The accident caused severe facial injuries, skull fractures, and permanent damage to the right side of her body. After ICU, she spent two more months in rehab, but her recovery has been extremely difficult and far from over.

My grandmother is the most selfless person I know, always putting others before herself. Watching her go through this has been heartbreaking for all of us, especially my mom, who is now her full-time caregiver. Despite having part-time nurse support, the emotional, physical, and financial toll on my mom has been unimaginable.

We’ve done our best to manage everything ourselves, but the medical bills, daily care, and therapy costs have become too much. I never imagined creating a GoFundMe, but I’m doing this to help ease the burden on my family and give my grandmother a fighting chance at more recovery.
