AM I CRAZY!?

I am about to take on the hardest adventure of my life — XPD adventure race — 700 km in 9 days of bike/hike/kayak while navigating with map and compass, and it is all because of the amazing guy Andre in the photo above! He dedicated his life to adventures in the great outdoors and passed that great love onto his children.

A long time ago, Andre said to me that if he could have me on his adventure race team, he would. At that time, I had never even heard of adventure racing, but I thought it was a great compliment.
 
When I saw a post on facebook about the next XPD race, I was immediately excited about adventure racing. I managed to convince three other girls to join our team, which we called the L-Platers. http://www.xpd.com.au/index.htm


On the same day that we paid our entry fee, my inspiring friend Andre unexpectedly passed away. Therefore, in honour of his memory, I am dedicating this race to Andre.

I would dearly love to use this opportunity to raise funds for the family he left behind (partner Liv and children Shanti (5 years), Maya (3 years) and Tao (2 months). They have been left with limited income , the money raised, your donation, would make you part of a community that can  help Andre's family  in their day to day needs.   My race , I hope, will inspire  his children so they can continue Andre’s legacy of adventuring in the great outdoors.
