On June 16, 2026, our family’s life changed in an instant.

Our mother, Farije, and her youngest son, 8-year-old Aleks, were simply out for a walk when they were struck by a car while crossing the street. The driver hit them and fled the scene, leaving them seriously injured. The impact was so severe that Farije was thrown approximately 25 feet.

Farije is a devoted mother of six children, a loving grandmother of two, and one of the hardest-working, most selfless people we know. She has always put her children and family before herself. She is the heart of our family: the person who works tirelessly, cares deeply, and shows up for everyone around her.

Farije is currently in serious condition. She suffered a broken back in multiple places, a broken pelvis, multiple fractures, and is in significant pain. She has a very long and painful road to recovery ahead of her. Aleks was also injured, and our family is doing everything we can to support both of them through this traumatic time.

Farije is not only a loving mother, but also the sole caregiver. Because of the extent of her injuries, she will be unable to work while she recovers. The emotional, physical, and financial burden on our family is overwhelming.
