My wonderful mother, Rebecca is 54 years old. We got the heartbreaking news that she was diagnosed with brain cancer in January. Her tumor is a grade 4 Glioblastoma (GBM). A Glioblastoma is a very rapidly growing tumor and is only slowed down by chemotherapy and radiation.
For those of you that know my mom, know that she is the most selfless person. Always giving her love and time to others before herself. She is cheerful, kindhearted, hardworking, and gives everything she has into being the best mom for my brother and me. As a single mother of two, she has given us both the world.
She underwent brain surgery on the 26th of January, which they were able to get most of, but unfortunately not all of her tumor out. As a result, she is having to go through six weeks straight of aggressive radiation and chemotherapy Monday through Friday.
The everyday necessities and her monthly bills for both medical and day-to-day are something I do not want her to have to worry about while she is battling cancer. Her work has provided her with some pay for now, but it will not last forever or be available for the long term and will not be reliable for this rough road we have ahead. We aren't sure what to do when that happens.
We are reaching out to our community for support during this critical time. Please consider sharing this fundraiser with others who might want to support my mom. Keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to us.
