The Dennis J. Ledwith (djl) Memorial is a fundraising site to help ease the financial burden that came with Dennis’ unexpected passing on September 19, 2018 at the young age of 47.

           Growing up in Oreland, Dennis was the youngest of seven children and spent most of his time in the pool for various swim clubs.  His love for water lead to opportunities at Germantown Academy, SIC Beach Patrol, IONA College for water polo and competing in triathlons.  

Dennis was the loving husband and “pal for life” to his wife Jan as well as he loved his two young children, Franny and Bridget, to the moon and back!  Dennis was always seen beaming every time he had the chance to swaddle his “prize-winning burrito” and he loved to show his swaddling skills by wrapping Franny (now 10) tight when was a baby and, when Bridget (now 7) arrived, she had Dennis wrapped around her finger immediately.  The kids were his world. And when they started swimming Dennis was fully engaged which earned a new moniker, Swim Dad.  He was so proud of both them. 




Our goal is to ease Jan's pain of raising two young children on a single income.  Your donation is going to the memorial fund for Dennis’ family which will help establish a small nest egg for Franny and Bridget’s future education.  Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.  We thank you with all of our hearts.
