Paul’s Recovery Fund
Donation protected
This Fund is on behalf of Paul Bernhardt, a loving brother and uncle, an amazing friend and coworker. Paul has battled several years of a blood clotting disorder which causes him to form blood clots throughout his body, particularly in his legs. He recently had a worsening in this condition, requiring several surgeries on his right leg, which were unfortunately unsuccessful in removing the many blood clots in his leg. His condition continued to deteriorate, and on November 1st, Paul had to undergo a below knee amputation of his right leg. This is understandably a huge setback for Paul, who is otherwise a very active individual. The purpose of this fund is to assist Paul with medical and personal bills that are racking up, as he has been away from work for several weeks now, and has a long road of rehab and recovery ahead.
Paul works as a patient care technician on a Cardiovascular Stepdown Unit at Henry Ford St. John Hospital (formerly Ascension St. John). He has worked at St. John for almost 20 years, and has friends in just about every department in the hospital. We all know Paul to be a hardworking and helpful guy, always willing to lend a hand when needed, and ALWAYS picking up extra shifts to help out his floor. Paul is the kind of employee every company wants, and the kind of coworker everyone looks forward to seeing at work. Paul is kind and generous to a fault; he’s sarcastic yet sincere, goofy yet earnest, a true friend and brother to everyone he knows.
Paul has the full support of his brothers, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews, along with his entire St. John family behind him. We are rooting for him and praying for a speedy physical recovery.
Any donations made will go directly to improving Paul’s quality of life, helping to pay his bills, and ensure he can focus solely on rehab and recovery. We hugely appreciate all donations and, on behalf of Paul, want to thank everyone for the incredible support received so far as he navigates this difficult road. Thank you!
