John "Jwoww" Wilkerson's Road to Recovery
My name is Tyler Pinegar and I am finally doing something that I rarely do -- ask for help.
Here’s a quick snippet explaining why I’m asking for help;
For 20 incredible years, John has been my rock, best friend, beloved partner, and better half. After having our usual Sunday dinner with John's mom on August 4th, 2024, our world was turned upside down when John suffered a hemorrhagic stroke, a devastating event that has taken a severe toll on his health.
Prior to the stroke, John had polycystic kidney disease, which has now progressed to End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) due to the stroke damaging his kidneys, and he is now on dialysis three days a week, a process that is keeping his body functioning while he recovers from the significant brain bleed and stroke as well as awaits a life-saving kidney transplant.
The stroke left John paralyzed on the right side of his body as well as severe dyphasia and aphasia. He has come so far since August 4th, but we still have a very long and hard road ahead of us.. with LOTS of occupational, physical and speech therapy... all of which are very hard to come by in rural Alabama and have hefty price tags.
The road ahead is long and fraught with challenges, but we are committed to fighting this battle together.
John wants to get home to the beautiful house that we built together, cuddle up with his BEST friend, Joey, and even drive his beloved Jeep Wrangler again.
Your support means everything to us. The costs of medical care, dialysis, and the eventual transplant are overwhelming. Now being down an income and waiting for John's Social Security applications to be processed has caused insane amounts of stress and anxiety in addition to the whirlwind of emotions and challenges that we've been facing head-on.
We are reaching out to our community for help. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to "Jwoww"'s recovery and gives us hope for a brighter future.
Thank you for standing with us during this incredibly tough time. Your generosity and kindness are truly appreciated.
