Monty’s Medical Bills
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rae. At 9:00 pm on Saturday Aug. 12th, my 3 year old chocolate lab, Monty, was hit By a vehicle. We live in Corning, NY and with all my neighbors’ help, Alvaro and I were able to get her in the car and we made it to Cornell Animal Hospital.
At first, they believed it was a punctured lung and internal bleeding, so they were treating her for that. Sunday morning, the doctor called me to inform me she broke her spine, punctured a lung, internal bleeding, fluid on her spine and cuts all over her body.
I HAD to give her the best chance possible of survival, no matter the amount of debt I would end up with. Monty depends on me as a mother. Our kids treat her like a sibling and their best friend. She goes everywhere with us, and we hope to be able to continue that.
She made it through the surgery, which many were not optimistic about. She’s healing her wounds ahead of schedule! But it could be quite some time before she walks again.
She eats home cooked meals (like a diva), she loves her toy ducks and she gives the biggest kisses.
I am not exactly sure how these things work. Right now, we are at a $12,000 bill. Even just a share will be a start to get her into surgery. If anyone is reading this, please help me bring my puppy home.
Thank you for your time.
