Help 4 Holly

My name is Becky, and I’m Holly’s friend and support worker.

If you don’t know Holly or her story yet, we’ll be sharing it in full soon—but here’s a quick introduction.

In June 2024, Holly was in a tragic accident in Thailand when a drunk driver crashed into the back of the motorbike she was a passenger on. She suffered a severe brain injury, which led to three strokes. Before the accident, Holly was a talented graphic designer, painter, and artist, as well as incredibly active—she trained in Muay Thai, cycled, and went to the gym regularly.

Fast forward nine months, and Holly has made unbelievable progress. Doctors said she’d never walk or talk again, but she’s proving them wrong every day! She can now walk with crutches and uses a wheelchair for longer distances.

This is where the GoFundMe comes in!

Right now, Holly’s crutches are mismatched and not ideal for her mobility, and her NHS wheelchair weighs over 35kg, making it really difficult for her to get around. I’m raising funds to get her:

1. Custom carbon fibre crutches from ‘Side Sticks’ – these are the best out there and will make a huge difference in her walking.

2. An all-terrain wheelchair which will weigh a max of 15kg – this will give Holly the freedom to get out and about more easily, especially with friends who don’t drive.

These essential items cost at least £8,000, and any extra funds will go towards Holly’s care, physio, Muay Thai sessions, gym membership, and other expenses—because, despite what people think, disability support from the government barely covers a fraction of the costs.
