My name is Julie Somers. I am starting a campaign
to help save a young man's life!
Peter Pavelica is 21 years old. He was in a car accident on August 8th, 2015 in Slovak, Republic. His aunt, Anna Pavelicova, who resides here in the United States with her two daughters, asked me to keep him in my prayers immediately after the incident. I have known Anna for about fifteen years. She is a hardworking and loving mother of two daughters. I met Peter last year when he stayed with them for two months. He is such a nice guy!
Peter was in an induced coma for three weeks and caught a septic bacterial infection that raised his temperature to 104 degrees. He has since been taken out of the induced coma and placed in a vigil coma.
His family began to lose hope when suddenly; Peter started to show signs of awareness such as moving certain limbs when asked to do so.
There is hope for Peter, and I feel like we can help!! :)
The underlying cause needs to be identified so that appropriate treatment can be initiated. Magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography and brainstem auditory gives information about electrical activity of the brain in a patient who is comatose, although the results are not predictive of recovery, some patients are able to emerge from a coma.
Due to the poverty in Peter's country, he has been turned away from three different hospitals, because his family cannot afford this treatment.
