Maya's Medical Fund — Uchenna

Those of you who know Maya well — and most of her customers at Uchenna Ethiopian Restaurant do — will know that though she's extremely warm and loving,  she can also be quite shy. 

So she may not have told you about having missed two months of work recently to travel to France to undergo 3 different surgeries. These were to address medical concerns (and pain) dating back 5 years. 

Due to her status as a foreigner, Maya will soon have to pay for these procedures out of pocket. The money sought in this fundraising campaign will go directly to pay those bills. She expects to see them roll in by mid to late January. 

Maya's shyness — and having much more trouble receiving than giving — has prevented her from seeking financial assitance. So some of her friends and faithful customers have stepped in to try to raise money via Go Fund Me. 

She will be forever grateful for donations, and already insists she will try to host a thank-you dinner or something in return (not with this money raised).
