Almost 3 years ago my dear friend Gary "Tiger" Balletto, father of 3, friend to all, suffered a spinal cord injury that most of you already know about. Anyone that has been blessed to call Gary a friend knows this man would give the shirt off his back to help you. Please take the time to read and let's all come together to help this cause.

Gary was contacted a couple months ago by Bryan Waltz, a friend he went to High School with in Cape Coral, Fl., that has been following his story by afar. Bryan shared with Gary that if he were to count on his fingers, the people throughout his life that he considered a friend that Gary was one of them. He explained how he always looked up to Gary while following his boxing career on TV and just admiring the way he took care of his family! Bryan claimed that In August 2012 his brother died due to complications from becoming a quadriplegic after an accident. This tragic loss of his beloved brother and best friend, had Bryan feeling compelled to help Gary in anyway that he could. Bryan, claiming to own three successful businesses, told Gary that he was willing to help him with anything he needed that would help him with his handicap. He said he was flying to Rhode Island on a charter jet with his family solely to visit Gary and buy him this wheelchair accessible van that he could drive himself with the right adaptive equipment. Bryan said, he felt fortunate because he was able to help Gary. Gary needed a vehicle. He also said his business partner was meeting him there to personally deliver this vehicle together and do some type of ribbon cutting.

A couple weeks ago, Gary went and put a deposit down on this van, that will give Gary the independence to drive himself again, doing all of this under the assumption that this was going to be donated to him and his family.Unfortunately none of this was true. Bryan gave Gary false hope for months, as he is not in a position to buy the van or help Gary in any way. As time went on the lies grew bigger. But Gary being Gary always tries to see the good in people, held on believing this was true. You might be asking yourself "WHY would someone do this?! I wish I had the answer to that question myself. But that's no longer important, what is important is getting this van Gary desperately needs.
