Dear friends,
I hope that you, your families, & your fur babies are all well.
unfortunately, things have not quite turned out as I had hoped. I had intended to go back to pet sitting and dog walking as
soon as got my prosthetic leg. Sadly, that didn’t happen. I did take care of 2 cats twice, but the ongoing issues from the car wreck 5 years ago made it all but impossible. The issues are
constant pain in my lower back, and due to nerve damage, my right leg has a constant “funny bone” feeling, making it difficult to walk. I am receiving disability, but only $561 per month. In February, my landlord jacked the rent up to $1500 per month. I have not worked since March 2020. I really hate to set up this page, I know it’s just a short term fix, I do have some plans for
the long term. I just need a little time to implement them. The funds I am asking for will cover 4 months rent, taking a huge
amount of stress off of my shoulders. At this point, moving is
not an option due to my physical limitations and safety
concerns. I have been very frugal!
I used to keep the heater set to 70, this past winter, I kept it set on 65. I used to keep a/c set at 70, it is now
set at 75. I have not had any take out food in over a year. No
pizza, no Chinese, not even McDonald’s! I do have 2 clients
who bring me groceries, so food is not a concern, thank
goodness. There are still other monthly expenses, like MLGW, car insurance, phone, gas, etc.
I still go to dialysis 3 times a week, but the good news is I am
only receiving minimal treatment, as I still have some kidney
function. The clinic does labs once a month, as there are some aspects I can control through proper diet. I have aced my labs
14 months in a row!
I am down to just one dog, 15 year old Dixie. She’s in great
shape - still does “zoomies” every day! Expenses for her are
not a concern, another of my clients is covering them.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I miss you all, and all of the fur babies!
