For seven years I've shared the best of times with my soul mate, Nanook. He is not only the best companion and dog, but also the most loyal and caring creature that has ever affected my life, as well as the lives of those who have met him. Like any of you out there who have a pet know what it feels like when your pet is in pain. Lately, all he has been feeling is pain. The pain is caused by intervertebral disc disease. A disc in his back is out of place thus creating pressure on his spine. The pressure on his spine is causing him pain and if any further displacement occurs it could result in immediate paralyzition. The only way to fix his back is surgery. An MRI and the surgery cost upwards of $10,000. Thus far, medical costs have beem$1000 only to diagnose the issue. On days when I wasn't feeling myself and down on life, he was always there, full of energy and happiness, which always brought me back to being myself. If he is provided with the necessary surgical procedure, God willing, he should have 10 years left to live . With the best years he has left I want him to have the ability of being himself again just like he has provided for me and those he is surrounded by.
