Travis' medical fund

We have recieved a heart breaking diagnosis. Travy has tumors on his spleen. We don't know if they are cancer yet, but either way it is going to be a difficult and expensive treatment plan.

Background: on the evening of Tuesday June 23rd, while we were all on holidays, Travis had a seizure, afterward he was lethargic, wouldn't eat or drink and couldn't get up. We talked to the vet and they said to watch him. I laid on the floor with him for four hours.  Then all of a sudden he got up like nothing had happened.

He was fine for almost a week.
Then when we woke up on Sunday June 28th, he was unresponsive. We took him to the vet, he had an exam, x-rays and bloodwork. The initial results were inconclusive. We got a second opinion and it was determined we should get him an ultrasound.
Yesterday we saw the specialist and he had an ultrasound and they told us some "spots" were found on his spleen and liver. They biopsied these "spots" which our primary veterinarian later told us are tumors.
I haven't done enough research yet but from what I have read so far and what they have  told me it doesn't sound like its good either way. We will hopefully have the results from the biopsy on Thursday. Then we can make a treatment plan.

When we adopted Travis two years ago he was already almost 10 . The insurance companies would not cover him for sickness as he was already considered a senior. We want to be able to give him the very best care possible and not have to worry about making decisions around money.

He is the sweetest boy ever and is a real fighter. Before we adopted him he survived being hit by a car and being attacked by a bear. Since the two episodes he has been back to his normal happy self.

I know alot of you love him just as much as we do. Any money that is raised over the amount that we end up needing for Travis will be donated to the care of other GSP's in need.

Thank you so much, we will keep you updated!
