John's Road to Recovery

I want to thank you all for your prayers and well wishes for my husband.  I am being cautiously optimistic and I’ll take even the smallest progress.

As you may or may not know, I am unable to leave his side because of the unstable nature of what we're fighting.  My PTO is running out so fast and my income is the main source of funds.  It's unknown how long we're going to be in the hospital so it's becoming more and more dire to find a source of funds to support our journey.

As difficult as it is to ask for help, I need to.  This was so unexpected and I want to be by his side as much as possible.  Anything you would be able to contribute would help toward another moment with him during this fight.

Here's the story thus far and I'll keep you updated as we go.

I brought John in the night of 6/22 and by 6/23 he was intubated.
6/24 - Every doctor that saw him said there was nothing that could be done, that he was very sick, and I should get the family to come to say goodbye, I guess. It was a day of tears, emotion, trying to stay strong for my boys. They didn’t expect him to survive the night. I sent for his mom. His sister and nephew were driving down. The nephrologist said the only thing he can offer was dialysis but because his pressure was so low, they couldn’t do it. He barely had any output that day.  His mom arrived on 6/24 around 8pm. As soon as she spoke his blood pressure jumped up to a normal number. #thepowerofamotherslove.
6/25 - His blood pressure maintained normal with the help of Levophed and Vasopressin. He was also spiking fevers so he is on two different antibiotics, insulin drip, Fentanyl and Ativan drip. Nephrology said if he is the same on the 26th we can try dialysis because he was not putting out urine. During the night shift he received albumin and Lasix and started peeing. He peed so much the bag had to be emptied twice! The swelling on his face has gone down significantly.
6/26 - Nephrology came to see John and said he doesn’t need dialysis because his kidneys are making urine. He is slowly being weaned off the pressors and the vent so there is progress. Keep the prayers coming because I truly believe they are working.  I will continue to give updates .
