We are so heartbroken having to put a GoFundMe page up for our 18 month old Border Collie but our vet bills keep on racking up and we are quickly falling behind in our ability to pay his way.
Our playful and outgoing boy Alfie suddenly fell extremely ill in September last year. After many consultations, scans, blood tests and months of antibiotics we thought the worst was behind us. Fast forward to last week and Alfie has relapsed, we are desperately trying to discover what the issue is and help get him back to full health. We've spent over $17,000 trying to get to the bottom of the problem.
The current situation following his surgery is he is coming off 8 weeks of antibiotics and needs a follow up CT scan to determine next steps.
The best situation is everything has cleared up and we just need to play the waiting game and hope he doesn't get sick again. The worst case is issues are still present from the scan and we will need to continue to investigate with invasive surgery to determine what is causing the infection that is so stubborn.
We have spent a lot of savings on his vet bills so we are desperate. We can’t stand watching him in pain and unable to properly decipher his diagnosis due to financial issues affording the tests.
The vet has said the best chance for his recovery is knowing whether the antibiotics have been affective in eliminating the issues. We just want to see him enjoy his life as a puppy again.
We are looking for any sort of support for Alfie’s treatment, no amount would be too small. Here are some photos of Alfie so you can see who you would be supporting. Thank you so much everyone, if we even get 1 small contribution we would be so touched.
All funds will go directly to his vet hospital bills and subsequent surgery. Any leftover donations will be contributed to Australian Wildlife Conservancy and Pet Rescue.
