Iscella's cancer mishap

So where to begin... I guess with back story , my sister was getting married May 2, 2015, and of course with my bad luck I started getting cold symptoms the beginning of that week so I scheduled a doctors appointment for that Thursday. So on April 30, 2015 I went to my dr for what I thought was gonna be a cold but little did I know. She told me that my platelets were all over the place and they she believed I had a blood clot in my left arm ( I had told her I had been having pain in my left arm). I was referred to saint Francis to get an ultra sound on my arm that day and surprise surprise I had two blood clots in my arm. I was sent to the ER to get blood thinners and see a dr. When we finally talked to the dr he said that I would have to go see an oncologist, which I then looked at my two sisters and said leukemia ( how I came up with this conclusion, they kept saying something was up with my blood). So by Friday May 1, 2015, after my getting an ultrasound on my spleen, my primary care dr told me that I had the symptoms of leukemia but it was not an official diagnosis until I saw an oncologist, which wouldn't be til the following Wednesday. Yup so it went from having a cold to having cancer. Side note, I'm from a family of 10 siblings and basically the only people that knew what was going on was my two sisters Lola (31) and Lily (24) who I lived with, everyone else thought I just had a cold. So here comes the fun part , May 2, 2015, the big wedding day!! The wedding was to be at 4pm at our parents farm in belton, sc. So to my surprise at 1pm as I'm getting ready I get a call from the hospital saying they needed to admit me immediately. My immidate reaction was to start crying, I knew at that point that I definitely had leukemia. I explained how I couldn't because my sisters wedding was that day and if there was any chance I could go to the ceremony and then go to the hospital. The doctor said if I could go in at that moment for labs I would be able to go to the ceremony and depending on how things looked I would either come back that night or the following morning. So me and my sister Lily end up going to the hospital, which is where they diagnosed me with acute leukemia. And not only just acute leukemia, which could either be myeloid or lymphocytic but the ultra rare bilineage acute leukemia. It basically means I have both lymphocytic and myeloid acute leukemia. Awesome!! 2 hrs before the wedding and I get diagnosed with rare blood cancer. Well after calming my sister Lily down ( yes, I was pretty calm bc I had a wedding to get to and I'd think about the cancer later) we rushed back home to getting ready for the wedding, which we were gonna be late for. The wedding was amazing, even though we missed the ceremony because of the hospital trip the reception was beautiful.

Again only me and lily knew that I had cancer and Lola knew I had the symptoms, everyone else was in the dark. May 3, 2015, after being admitting into the hospital I told my sisters to go and tell the rest of the family what was going on.

So all in all I have acute bilineage leukemia, I'm on my second round of chemo or " consolidation" where they try to get me into remission. Since I do have the rare kind of leukemia the only chance I really have to getting better will be by getting a bone marrow transplant. My oncology referred me to Northside hospital in Atlanta for the transplant and that would mean moving to Atlanta for 100 days during the whole process. Not being able to work this fund me page is to help out pay for medicine and medical bills. I did not have insurance up until July 1, 2015, so I will help pay for hospital bills and doctors Visiter for May and June. I would like to thank everyone for there support and kind words, I take it day by day and know I will be able to get through this.

Thank you
