My name is Marcos, and my family and I are going through the most difficult time of our lives. I find myself in the position of having to ask for help to support the person I love the most: my mom.

My mother has been diagnosed with:

Acute Coronary Syndrome with Poor Circulation in Her Left Leg – Her heart is at risk, and her leg has poor circulation, which could have serious consequences if not treated in time. This condition causes fatigue and difficulty breathing at times.

Two Herniated Discs with Compressed Nerve Root – This causes unbearable pain and affects her mobility, preventing her from walking normally.

Doctors have indicated that she needs two urgent surgeries to avoid severe complications. However, medical costs are extremely high, and our family does not have the financial resources to cover them.

These surgeries are very delicate and require a team of specialized doctors, as well as state-of-the-art medical equipment to ensure their success. Additionally, the recovery time will be long and costly, as my mom will need constant care during her rehabilitation.

The total cost of a surgery like this in El Salvador is estimated to be between $12,500 and $18,000 in a public hospital. My family has managed to raise some money, but we still need more to cover the cost of the operation and post-operative treatment. This amount covers:

Surgery costs: The procedure, which includes general anesthesia, the surgery itself, and the hours of the surgical team.

Hospitalization and post-surgical care: The time my mom will spend in the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and her subsequent stay in the hospital to ensure she recovers properly.

Medications and therapies: During her recovery, she will need medications to control inflammation, prevent infections, and help her heart function better.

Medical care and follow-ups: Regular medical consultations to evaluate her progress, conduct echocardiograms, and other follow-up studies.

I know this is a huge amount of money, and that’s why I am here, asking for your help. My mom was always there for me, fighting tirelessly to give me the best life possible. Now, it’s my turn to fight for her because I cannot lose her. I am organizing an online fundraising campaign, and I have also started a small local event to raise some extra money.
