If you know Kat Costolo at all you know she is one kind and hard-working mama raising two amazing teenagers here in Austin, Texas, a city she loves dearly.
In October of 2024 Kat got the devastating news that she had a very large, rare tumor growing on her spinal cord occupying an entire nerve that corresponded to her left leg. Surgery to remove her spine and get into her spinal column was decided on and performed quickly. (Turns out that thing had been growing there for ten years.)
The surgery was a success, they were able to cut the entire nerve and remove the whole tumor. After months and many MRIs and a Spinal Tap later, she has been fully cleared of cancer. YAY! Her recovery in mobility with her spine and left leg is currently being helped with physical therapy multiple times a week. Although losing that nerve leaves the connection between her brain and leg a little slow, she is working hard to regain full use of her leg and full mobility in her spine and hopes she will be back to normal life within a year's time!
Even though Kat got pretty good at asking for support through all this, I know she needs help now with the other unfortunate part of all this: a mountain of medical bills. And so, I'm asking if there's anything you can give, to please do so to ease the burden as she still has quite a bit of recovery to do.
