We are reaching out to ask for support for our family during a really difficult and unexpected time.

My sister and her partner, Matt, run a small family-owned cleaning business, which is their main source of income. Like many small businesses, they’ve been working hard to stay on top of bills and provide for their family. Recently, Matt proudly purchased a work van using the last of his savings, a huge step forward that would allow them to grow their business while also giving my sister the ability to stay home with their baby and have a reliable car for emergencies.

Tragically, not long after purchasing the van and before they were able to afford insurance Matt was involved in a road rage incident on the way to work in the Gold Coast. A white sedan aggressively targeted him, resulting in significant damage to the work vehicle. This has left them without reliable transport and unable to continue working as they normally would.

In the midst of this, we have been overwhelmed by the kindness of our community. After sharing the incident on Facebook, many people came forward saying they had experienced similar situations with the same vehicle. Several individuals have even provided video footage and offered to give witness statements. Without this incredible support, we would have very little hope of pursuing justice.

The story has also gained attention from 7 News, who have reached out regarding a segment on reckless driving, helping to bring further awareness to what happened.

Right now, we are asking for any support you can give to help cover the cost of repairing the van so Matt can get back to work and continue supporting his family. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in helping them get back on their feet.
