I have started this GoFundMe for our friend, Yasser Hassan. For those of you that may not know, Yasser was involved in an ATV accident on his property on Friday, August 30th. As a result, both his hip and knee were crushed.
He was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak where he had surgery on Sunday to preserve the integrity of his hip. A second surgery is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th to stabilize his knee. He will remain hospitalized for approximately 2 weeks following this surgery so doctors can monitor the healing process and teach him to transfer from bed to chair etc.
Yasser has been advised his leg will be immobilized with no weight-bearing for a minimum of 3 months. This will be followed by 6 or more months of rehabilitation. In total, he is looking at approximately a year to fully recover and be released to return to work.
While he is exploring what funds may be available through a work disability policy, the application and approval process can be lengthy. If approved, he will only receive a portion of his pay which will have to cover his monthly living expenses as well as the mounting medical costs.
Medical and living expenses can wipe out checking and savings accounts in no time. This type of stress and worry will have a huge impact on Yasser's ability to recover.
If you know Yasser, undoubtedly at some point you have been on the receiving end of his kindness, generosity and loving spirit. Whether he has lent a hand on a project, loaned you some item you needed, or listened when you needed an ear, NOW IS OUR TIME TO RETURN THE FAVOR TO OUR FRIEND AND BROTHER!!
If you would like to assist with these expenses, any donation would be greatly appreciated. If you are unable to contribute financially please share this GoFundMe to help reach our goal. All funds raised will go directly to Yasser's medical costs and living expenses while he is recovering.
On behalf of Yasser and Adrinne, the outpouring of love, prayers, and support shown over the past few days and in the months to come is greatly appreciated!
