Help me study abroad please.

My name is Paulo Sorensen. I am a 12-year-old of Dominican heritage. My dream is to become an Astrophysicist or an Aerospace Engineer. I was born in Manhattan and, at the age of six, I moved to Mount Vernon, New York, with my family including my brother, who was born with Down-Syndrome (a cognitive disability), and grandmother, who has Alzheimer's.

Since Pre-k, I have been an honor student. I moved to Thornton Donovan two years ago for middle school, and have been on The Headmaster's List (with 90 and above in all key subjects). It is a great honor to know that the headmaster, Dr. Douglas E. Fleming Jr., recognizes my hard work and dedication, and he is making sure that I am having an engaging and challenging academic experience.

During my Pre-k academic school year, the administration moved me up to the first grade. And although I am in 7th grade, I am taking mostly 8th-grade classes. One of the languages I am studying is Italian. I speak Spanish at home with my mother and grandmother, and have quickly caught on to Italian. My teacher rewarded my aptitude for the language by offering me accelerated one-to-one classes.

The purpose of this Gofundme is to enable me to take part in a school trip to Italy for a three-week study abroad. Thornton Donovan is about thematic education, and every year the school goes on a scholarly adventure to a foreign country. The yearly themes revolve around the selected country . I am super excited that this academic year Italy has been chosen. Ever since I was little, I have been fascinated by Italian culture, especially its mythology. Sadly my family does not have the means to fully pay for the trip, so I ask for your help. These three weeks to study abroad by engaging with the culture and language is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity which will benefit me significantly. The school is asking for $4,300, far less than what it would cost to do this on my own. If I raise this amount, my parents will pay for my personal expenses. I am urgently counting on your generosity.
