Hello beloved community,

Our friend Yasmine has been through a harrowing time in this transition to the new year. They have come out the other end of an incredibly painful, frightening and relentless illness that started with flu and fever, intensified to pnuemonia, and eventually led to a gall bladder infection. Thankfully Yasmine was able to leave the hospital without needing surgery, and they were able to transition gently back to their apartment with help from close friends and family.

Now we are reaching to our wider network of friends and community to help with the next part— recovery. Yasmine is still building back their strength, their lung capacity, their gut biome, and much more. They are not able to pay their medical expenses on their own, and being away from work for so long has created more financial hardship. Here is a breakdown of where this money is going.

Expenses:
$300: ND intake
$250: 1 follow up visit with ND
$150: medicines
$300: trauma-informed theraputic bodywork for medically-complex event
$180: co-pay for 5 acupunture visits
$350: transportation to medical appointments, unexpected costs and incidentals

Total: $1530

(If Yasmine raises more than $1530, they will be using that money to buy a new mattress. Their current foam pad is not helping with the sleep they need to recover.)
