Yashua Road to Greatness

Hi my name is Faith and I'm the mother of Yashua. Yashua is the oldest of 4 and has always been an amazing kid academically, behaviorally, socially, and emotionally. He has been an A+ student since Kinder and has been on the Principal's List all 9 years! Yashua has played football since he was 5 years old and still managed to keep his grades high. He won a national writing contest when he was just 6 years old. He has participated in High Jump an advanced placement academic program his 7th and 8th grade summers and school years.

You would think being the best student he could possibly be would open up many doors for him academically. Yashua has gotten accepted into his top choice High School Mount Carmel. Although he has done everything "right" paying for a nice private high school is a bit out of reach for an African American young man from the Westside of Chicago and his family. Even after 1 scholarship offer, Yashua is still worrying about where the rest of the finances for his tuition and fees will come from. Yashua deserves to go to a high school that will challenge him academically and pushes him to bigger and better opportunities as he travels this road to college.

Although this is not an easy ask as his mother I want to give him this opportunity to travel the road to greatness. He has been great the last 13 years so let's help continue to encourage him that his hard work and dedication to his academics will always be the best choices he can make.
