My name is Lonny Lemon, and I have been traveling to Puerto Vallarta for over 20 years. I am a school superintendent in the NW suburbs of Chicago. Over the past 8 years, we have collected over 30,000 pencils left on the floor of our school. Each year I have taken them to Vallarta with me and thrown them in the windows of an impoverished school. Two years ago, I was finally able to go into the school and meet the principal and students. I was shocked to see how little they have, both in the classrooms and for supplies. The desks were literally 50 years old and completely rotted. There is no glass on the windows, and the floors are unpainted concrete. I started a GoFundMe campaign and raised $15,000 USA. Secretly, I purchased 150 brand new desks for the school. Only the principal and I knew. We had them delivered on the last day of school, quite to the surprise and delight of the students and their parents. I flew to Vallarta to be there for their delivery and unwrapping. You can see the desks in the photo. We also purchased 6 tables for the students to eat lunch. Previously, they ate on the ground in the courtyard. But, there is more to be done. I asked the principal, Sr. Ramon Hernandez, what he needed next. He has shared with me that he would like two portable microphone systems with speakers, several desktop computers with printers, and two portable projection systems to be used in the school. I would purchase the equipment locally, in Puerto Vallarta, to help their local businessmen. Every donation adds up. I received dozens of donations from all over the United States and Canada. I hope you will consider donating to this worthy cause. Every dollar I receive will go to helping these, my "adopted" schoolchildren. God Bless, and "thank you."
