Justine’s Road to Recovery ❤️
Donation protected
As many of you now know, I was involved in a head on collision that was caused by a distracted driver. I was alone with two of my doggies and we have all experienced a very traumatic life altering event. While our pups are ok, but shaken up, I have a long road of recovery ahead.
Ive had 3 surgeries total. My femur broke in half, and they have placed a titanium rod in my leg that is now and forever a part of me.
I had a small hole in my small intestine (likely from my seat belt), and had surgery to repair that.
I have a broken tailbone which will heal on its own and doesn’t require surgery but will still need time to heal.
I also broke my wrist (radius) in 3 places and had surgery to place plates and screws to heal. I also tore the ligaments in my wrist which will heal on its own.
I am incredibly grateful to be alive and that it wasn’t worse. I fought my hardest to stay conscious and alert during the entire ordeal and to be aware of everything that had and was happening. I cried out for God, for Spirit, and for my kids and that is what kept me conscious fighting for my life. I’ve experienced a lot of other minor health issues in the 6 days I’ve been hospitalized, including a blood transfusion, several bloody noses, and been poked all over my body countless times and am bruised up quite a bit. But I am here to tell my story.
I have 7 amazing kids who gave me the will to live and who need me back home with them. I am unable to work at this time and we no longer have an income until I am able to get back to work. I have had to postpone all of my meal prep orders indefinitely also. Once I am discharged from Ortho-Trauma, I will be moved to in patient rehab until I am ready to go home. It could be weeks before that day comes, so I am asking for your prayers, support, shares, and anything you may feel inclined to donate. I am not one to ask for monetary help but I am also not too proud to know when my family is in need and I am willing to take any assistance and support we can get during this time.
I am so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and messages and support I’ve received thus far and I am truly grateful to be so loved and cared for. I am learning to walk all over again and my perspective on life has changed forever. I hope, if nothing else, my story can at least reach those who need to hear it and the importance of wearing seatbelts and not being distracted while driving is emphasized greatly to everyone who reads this.
From my family to yours, we are so grateful and appreciative of any support in any way and we feel the love all around us. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers
