Yannick’s Road to the Paralympics
Donation protected
Yannick Paredis was born a healthy child, but at age five, he began showing signs of a rare neurological disorder called generalized dystonia, which caused severe muscle contractions and loss of mobility. By age eight, he required a wheelchair and struggled with basic movements. After years of challenges, he underwent deep brain stimulation surgery, which significantly improved his condition.
With renewed mobility, Yannick discovered a passion for table tennis. His talent and determination led him to the Dutch national team, and he now trains full-time at Papendal while studying sports. His ultimate goal is to compete in the 2028 Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.
Despite ongoing challenges, Yannick remains positive and aims to inspire others, especially children with disabilities, through sports. However, reaching his Paralympic dream requires financial support for training, travel, and equipment. Donations can help him achieve his goals and continue motivating others.
