Yamlaksira Debele Memorial Fund
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Yamlaksira "DJ" Debele (23). Our family, friends, and community have suffered a heart-wrenching loss. This is an unbearable moment for any kin and loved one at any point in life.
On the morning of Monday, August 23, 2021, Yamlak's life was mysteriously taken from him. There is currently an ongoing investigation as to how this tragic event occurred, so family and friends are not yet ready to share certain details with the public at this time. Any other rumors and speculations regarding this incident are not validated until we as the family update this page. We will keep everyone updated as the case progresses. Here is his story...
Yamlak was born on September 11, 1997, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to Tigist and Abera. In the summer of 2001, along with his mother and sister Kalkidan, Yamlak came to America in hopes of a better future, education, and life. He and his family settled in San Jose, CA where he attended Abraham Lincoln High School and played Varsity football with a promising future ahead of him. Having graduated High School in 2016 Yamlak went on to venture off into many business opportunities such as opening a phone repair store and, etc.
Yamlak was a pure-hearted, kind, selfless, caring, and comedic individual whose life's motive and drive was to live for his loved ones, especially his mother Tigist who raised him as her pride and joy. Working multiple jobs at a time to raise two children is not an easy task for a foreign parent and Yamlak understood that from a young age. His goal was to live for his mother and repay back the sacrifices she made for her children. Through all the ups and downs of life Yamlak never failed to smile and also put a smile on other faces. His laughter was so contagious that you would laugh along with him without even knowing what was going on. His jokes and pranks were ones that would have you thinking about it years later and laugh as though it was from the day before. Yamlak had a heart of gold and the cutthroat sharpness of a diamond to fulfill his selfless goal of making his parents and sister proud.
Yamlaksira leaves behind his beloved parents and sister, his beautiful girlfriend, his loving cousins, and supportive friends who are truly heartbroken and mourning the sudden and devastating news.
This GoFundMe was created in hopes of raising enough money to help alleviate the financial burden of the death of a child. All contributions will go towards funeral expenses, and support for the family through these troubling times.
