Honoring Yamel Molina – A Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Yamel Molina on March 7, 2025, at 10:05 PM due to heart failure. Yamel was a devoted mother to Caryn and Renee and a proud Nana to Dimitri and Sabrina. She was the heart of her family, a loving friend, and a generous soul who touched the lives of so many.

Yamel was born on April 8, 1952, the youngest of six siblings, to Nicaraguan parents who raised their family in Southern California. She dedicated 31 years of service as an Accounting Technician at Metropolitan Water District, where she wasn’t just a colleague—she was family. Her love and kindness were evident in every part of her life, and her legendary cooking made her an irreplaceable part of her workplace community.

After retiring, Yamel’s focus shifted to what mattered most—her daughters and grandchildren. She found joy in reading, often getting lost in a good book, and cherished every moment playing with her grandkids. Whether it was a simple game at home or planning a fun outing, she embraced every opportunity to create special memories with them.

Yamel also had a deep love for family road trips. She delighted in packing up the car, mapping out new adventures, and taking her loved ones on unforgettable journeys. These road trips weren’t just vacations—they were an extension of her love, a way to bond, laugh, and create experiences that her family will cherish forever.

She was in the process of securing a new life insurance policy, but unfortunately, her passing came before she was able to put these plans in place. This has left an unexpected financial burden on her daughters, who now face the difficult reality of honoring their mother’s memory while navigating this sudden hardship.

We, her family, friends, and community, are coming together to lessen this burden for Caryn and Renee, allowing them the space to grieve without financial stress. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly towards Yamel’s funeral expenses and supporting her family during this transition.

****If you are unable to donate, we would deeply appreciate if you could share this campaign to help spread the word.

Yamel was the glue that held her family together—her kindness, humor, and warmth will never be forgotten. Let’s come together to give her the farewell she deserves and support the family she loved so deeply.

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
