For weeks we have been watching as the virus has upended the lives of many, and we are devastated to see the impact and pain caused by COVID-19 around the world. However, at the same time, we have also seen and been inspired by the tireless efforts of communities rallying together to support each other in this time of crisis. 

We, as a Yale community, want to do the same. Especially since the next 2 weeks are projected to be the worst of the outbreak in the US, it is more important now that we come together to support each other and those in need.

The mutual aid fund is set up to help students, staff, faculty, and other Yale community members meet rent payments, mortgage payments, pay utility bills, car payments, afford child care, and healthcare / health insurance costs, that they otherwise would be unable to make, or that would make them forsake other payments. This is an non-exhaustive list of funding avenues, and funding is encouraged to be used to pay for food, and emergency incidental costs as well. We are asking those with disposable incomes to add to the mutual aid fund, and allow for our friends, peers, and community members who need funding to be able to access it.
