YAFL Stolen Fundraising Proceeds
Donation protected
On Saturday July 8, at Applebees on San Mateo & Academy in Albuquerque, the La Cueva Bears YAFL Freshmen team held a Pancake Breakfast fundraiser. After proceeds were counted, a parent went to pay the restaurant manager and tip the cooks; at that time the money bag was left on the table hidden. When they returned to the table, they noticed the bag was gone.
Several kids and parents noticed a man, by himself, was hanging around in a booth and did not want to eat when approached by the boys. An employee also notice the same man running out of the building and into the parking lot. The man is described as mid-twenties Hispanic with blue eyes. Tattoos up and down his arms. Baseball hat. Dark complected. Described by one looking like "Skinny Pete" from Breaking Bad.
$2000 in cash $300 in checks was stolen from our team. This money was raised to buy uniforms and equipment for our boys. Anyone with any information, please contact the Albuquerque Police Department. Any donation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
