Yadi went in for what was supposed to be a pretty routine surgery.  Weeks later she learned that the mass that was removed was a rare form of ovarian cancer.  She is at the beginning of a scary journey which will require another surgery and chemotherapy.  Her doctors are not wasting any time and treatment is starting next week.  

Because her cancer has a very high recurrence rate she will need to be monitored for the rest of her life and may need to undergo repeated surgeries and chemotherapy.  

Yadi is an affectionate, generous and loyal sister.   She is also a talented artist, a badass bartender,  a passionate friend.  When life gives her lemons, she makes a lemon cocktail!  

She has health insurance, but like many in her situation she has a high deductible, super-high co-pays and will be unable to work for most of her treatment.  

If you know Yadi, you know she is a fighter.  And she doesn't ask much from anyone.  She will quietly persevere.  She will stare down this cancer and bitch slap it.
