Hello, my name is Chris Moore.
I have been involved with music for over 40 years.
Since my high school days my focus has been on Christian music. I loved the spirit of the early Jesus music of the 1970's. Those artists would take a small van or bus across country in faith that God told them to go minister with their music. Occasionally, they would pass the hat to try to make ends meet. The message was more important than the means to get there.
In the 1980's I started a Christian rock band called the Rock of Refuge band where I tried to take these same principles to heart. We ministered to the homeless community at ministries like De'Gage and the Other Way. We sang at churches, coffeehouses, colleges, and festivals. In recent years I have helped several churches build praise teams and encourage young singers and musicians to use their talents for The Lord.
Over the last three years I have hosted a free Christian music festival called "At the Foot of the Cross". This ministry seeks to showcase local Christian musicians and allow Christians to gather interdenominationally to celebrate what we have in common (Jesus Christ), rather than our differences. Like those early Jesus music pioneers, I feel the message of Jesus Christ is so very important to the troubled world we live in that I should not hinder the message any by charging ticket fees to hear it. We all know how our money is stretched these days. If you believe in this vision, won't you please help fund this years At the Foot of the Cross Free Christian Music Festival at its new location in a Grand Rapids, MI?
I am only trying to raise $700 due to the incredible support that I have already received.
This money will help with advertising costs and physical needs of the event. Anything over the amount will go to next years event. Please note that at this time we are NOT a non profit tax except ministry. I will provide a full accounting of every penny to be available upon request. I thank you in advance for whatever you can do!
