Hello! My name is Laurie Deavers and I have worked with Amber Shifflett at Generations Crossing for over eight years. I am putting this fundraiser together on her behalf with the help of other co-workers and families at the center.

Update 5/6/23: Amber passed away on May 4. Josh and the children have a long road hard road of healing ahead of them. Please consider a donation to help the family with medical and funeral cost.

Amber has dedicated most of her life to caring for the youngest children in our community. It is now our turn to help care for her because no one fights alone.

Amber was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer on 12/31/20. She started her journey with 12 rounds of chemotherapy followed by a double mastectomy on 6/28/21. Reports from surgery identified some additional concerns so Amber fought through 25 radiation treatments followed by additional chemotherapy from September through February. Recent CT scans showed some spots on Amber’s lungs which lead to a biopsy. On 2/23/22 Amber learned that the cancer has spread to her lungs and she will be facing more chemo and possibly immunotherapy.

Due to COVID concerns and overall health, Amber has not been able to work since January of 2021. Medical bills continue to grow while she faces additional treatment. Every donation, no matter how much you can afford, is greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to Amber to assist with medical costs of cancer treatment.
