Help Alina's Family!

Hi, my name is Keri and I'm raising money for a former student and her family. I had Alina last year when she was in 4th grade. She's an amazingly kind and gentle girl who loves drawing cats! I still have a few of her masterpieces!

A couple of weeks ago, it was discovered that Alina's kidneys are failing. When she was admitted to the hospital, her kidneys were working at 17%. She's too weak for the needed kidney transplant, and initially they believed she'd have to be on dialysis for 6 months before she'd be strong enough for the transplant. Fortunately, steroids have stabilized her kidneys enough so she won't have to continue the dialysis, and she gets to come home. She still needs to get a transplant in 6 months. She's also been diagnosed with sarcoidosis, A condition in which there is an abnormal collection of inflammatory cells that form clumps in the lungs, skin or lymph nodes. This results in persistent dry cough and shortness of breath., and is receiving treatment for that, as well.

Her mother and father have been by her side throughout her hospital stay, and haven't been able to work. Thankfully, insurance is covering most of the medical bills, but the family needs help with household bills.
