Give a Stray Dog a Second Chance at Life
Donation protected
Hey everyone! So we recently took in a stray dog who comes with some baggage. We took him to get scanned for a chip and he doesn’t have one and I have reached out to several rescues and the most common response I’ve gotten are “we’re all full” or “we’re not taking on medical cases”. With that said, he does have a bum back left leg that is visible so the vet wanted to X-ray him when we got his shots. Come to find out he has a broken pelvis in 2 places, a back broken leg in 2 places and a broken front leg. At this time he was consulted by two orthopedic surgeons and they both agree his leg can stay at this time since it’s healing however there is a chance they may amputate it due to it not healing properly or him being in too much discomfort. They will re X-ray him again in a year to see where it’s at. He is under a year old and they also suspect due to the scars on his nose, he was bred to be a fighting dog but wasn’t aggressive enough so he was dumped. We’re asking for costs to cover his basics as we didn’t expect to take on a 4th dog. we’ve gotten almost all his shots (has two left to get next week), he’s getting microchipped and neutered tomorrow and last week he underwent almost $600 in X-rays. He’s also on his third dog cage because he broke out of the two plastic ones we purchased.
