Helping the Healy's

As the Mother Teresa Academy staff we ask that you all help a wonderful family through a rough time.  Not only has Miss Mo touched our lives but her whole family has too.  You couldn't ask for a more loving happy family then the Healy family.  During an unexpected trip to the Malta Medical Center in the middle of February a tragic event struck the Healy family. Mike Healy a man who works full time and also volunteers his free time to the Malta-Stillwater Ambulance Corp, and umpires summer baseball with eastern New York Umpire Association, found out that he had a tumor in his cerebellum which needs to be removed immediatley. This tumor has consumed not only the entire cerebellum but also has wrapped around several nerves in the brain stem which controls hearing, vision, balance, and speech. This amazing man has been out of work since mid-February due to the extreme pain and time consuming tests that he must undergo due to this tumor. The surgery will take place on April 27, 2016. It will last 12 hours and requires two surgeons. On top of that he will spend 14 days as an inpatient as well as months of recovery at home. He is facing coming out of the surgery with vision/hearing issues, balance issues, and speech problems which would eliminate his ability to work and volunteer as he does with such joy.

His strong and fabulous wife Maureen is one of our pre-school teachers and we cannot express how much we and her students love her. She is never without a smile and or a kind word for those who need it.  Their three boys Kevin, Mike, Brendan have been there to help their parents through this hard time.  Nobody wants to ask for help so we are asking for the Healy family.  Any amont of doantion will go a long way.  Right now their only income is Miss Mo's.  Bills are coming in from every direction and sadly there just isn't enough to get them by each month.  Not only is that an issue but the fact that Mike will probably endure many medical bills is a huge burden on the whole family.

This money is to help this wonderful woman and her family while mike is out of work and in and out of the hospital. These are truly remarkable people who are kind and generous and they have been through so much in their lives. We ask that you help this family that has done so much to help others throughout their lives.
