Replacing My Stolen Mountain Bike
Back in July, I was gifted a mountain bike. Little did I know how it would change my life... It soon became a new obsession, medicine for my severe anxiety disorder, and more recently - it deeply aided in my sobriety. I would race home from work, change clothes, and head to the trails. My mind was calm, my overall health was improving, and I was getting better with each ride. When the time change took away my chance to ride in the daylight, I acquired lights and rode the trails at night - nothing stopped me from getting my therapy.
When my bike was stolen, it wasn't "just a bike" - it was my routine, my purpose, my therapy, my peace of mind. I was even planning on entering a race in the spring of next year. A huge part of me is now missing.
Unfortunately, replacing my mountain bike is not within reach for me financially. I work full time as a recreational therapy assistant at a nursing home, and as much as I love my job, saving money is not an easy feat. Mountain bikes are not cheap. My credit is shot from student loans, so financing a bike is out of the question. I am not looking to spend thousands for a top of the line new bike, I simply want to replace the kind that I had, so I can get back to the trails.
As a lot of you know I am also a photographer. With each donation I will be offering you a choice of either: a print or a photo shoot on 35 mm to be scheduled for after the holidays.
Here are a few examples of my current work that I'm offering:
If you know my work and there's another print that you'd like - let me know! Or if by some chance you'd rather have one of my cactus drawings/paintings - let me know!
Every little bit helps <3
