Help Ajay

For those of you who may not know, the Ultramar on Highway #7 suffered a diesel tank collapse which destroyed the Supreme tank as well. With the cause of the collapse being the tanks were so old, they are not covered by insurance. Ajay was also in the tedious process of purchasing and installing new tanks, to avoid this event. This leaves Ajay in a hard spot financially.

 

For anyone in this community, the Ultramar is more than just a gas station. It's really a gathering place for all the good folk on this side of the big city of Antigonish. Whether it was stopping in to visit Jackie & Bruce, meeting someone for Kijiji, or to mess with Matt. Everyone in the community has had some affiliation to the Ultramar for one reason or another.

 

When Ajay bought the Ultramar from Jackie & Bruce, the entire community showed its true colours by welcoming Ajay and his family into your tight knit family. Your kindness made the process of immigrating to Canada much easier.

 

I have been working here for four years and have seen first hand how strong this number 7 family is. Some of the best people you’ll ever find live here. In my time here I can honestly say I have enjoyed it so much. Getting paid to talk nonsense with Gerard MacGillivray, or talking hockey with John MacDonald, is the best gig in the world. And you know you're in for a belly laugh if you see any of the Angevines pull in!

 

The most hard-working, kind, and helpful people populate this area. I’ve seen countless occasions of someone driving home after a long day’s work, only to stick around at the garage helping someone for an hour or two.

 

Because of this disaster, we have to do one of the toughest things to do. We have to ask you guys to do what you’re best at, helping. Ajay has an expense cost of roughly 300,000$ with more bills still being added on. There is no expectation for generosity, but everything helps. Whether its 5$ or 55$, you guys could help the Ultramar, (aka the unofficial community hall), be around for a while.
