About a year ago, our team was motivated to start this initiative after we saw the number of homeless people on 7th Avenue alone. This forced us to start researching about the homeless and homeless shelters in NYC. We were shocked by the numbers and wanted to do something to help out. Recently, due to the novel Corona-virus pandemic, the less fortunate have been highly susceptible to catching this deadly virus. We decided to launch Help Homeless so we can provide supplies for homeless shelters that have been trying to take care of the homeless. This donation is for two shelters, United Veterans Beacon House and Bethany House. There are many struggling people in this world and we wanted to take part and help as much as possible.
United Veterans Beacon House is a veterans assistance center decided to help veterans and their families by providing support and many specialized services they require when they come back to their normal lives. They provide services like helping families secure eligible services, ensure employment assistance and provide job counseling to veterans looking to return to the workforce, and emergency services like housing assistance payments, and many others.
Bethany House is a homeless shelter located on Long Island aimed to serve the needs of the homeless communities here. They currently have 5 residences providing housing services via their 85 beds spread throughout their residences. They also provide a series of other programs to help those with special needs, especially women and children.
