I'm Shalawn Smith. Back in October 2024, I had test results done, and in November 2024, I was set up to see an oncologist. In December 2024, my oncologist said I needed surgery for a lumpectomy due to being diagnosed with breast cancer. Breast cancer is a very scary word because I never thought it could happen to me, but it did.

In February 2025, I had my surgery, and it went very successfully. Since then, I've been going to and from doctors. Now, I'm taking chemotherapy, and it makes me very tired.
