Chloe Mason-Mann was born 8/12/08 with known issues of Trisomy 21, aka Down Syndrome, and a major heart defect. At just 9 weeks old, Chloe had major reconstructive heart surgery. She required nurse assisted care for a year at which time she also suffered from severe obstructive sleep apnea and was fed through a gastrointestinal feeding tube (g-tube) that supplied her nutrition. She endured several surgeries and procedures during her first few years of life, but then all seemed to quiet down and fall into place.
Then, at 7 years of age Chloe was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, and fought a tough battle for two years to become treatment free. On May 25, 2018 she took her last dose of chemo. Or so everyone thought….
On September 26th, 2020 Chloe was diagnosed as having relapsed and is facing another battle against ALL / leukemia. Her family is choosing to treat this round of leukemia with a newer type of therapy that is being recommended by her doctors. This therapy uses Chloe's own T-cells. Her T-cells will be collected, genetically altered, and infused back into her body to fight the cancer cells in an effort to combat and ultimately defeat her leukemia. To get Chloe this treatment that has a less intrusive and negative affect on the patient and better long term outcomes, her family needs help to cover the extraordinary costs.
